Women too sometimes find it difficult to decipher a man and his intentions. They too have their questions - ‘Why is he so attached to his golf clubs?’ or something like ‘How can a game like soccer interest him?’ Twenty insane guys running all over the stadium after a single ball; what’s so interesting about it?

This is where I would say understanding comes into play. Just as a man cannot digest the fact that a lady can shop for hours and still not be satisfied, similarly a woman cannot understand what’s so great about a game of baseball. We must try to appreciate each other. One needs to understand men as equally well as one needs to understand women.

So when a woman wants to get back to her ex she needs to understand him more than anything. Men don’t want someone to tell them that they are at fault. If you want to get him back make him feel that it was the circumstances that led to the breakup and that neither of you was at fault.

Women are very subtle so you will manage. Prove them how you have changed. This may take some time but stick to it than go out to him and enlist the changes that you plan to bring about.

Sympathy talk may work with your girlfriends but not with your partners. Men don’t take well to talks of sympathy and offering help, although there are exceptions. Also it is important to note that a man does not like a female who is continually stalking him. Rather I believe he will fall for someone who can be independent in any situation.

Men may know that the fairer sex can hold grudges and may contemplate revenge, but they do not expect the same treatment to them. Doing anything of the above will certainly cripple your relationship. Even if you do break up with someone and still want to get back, stay away from his friends. A man can be extremely jealous even if it is his ex. Even if you are trying to make amends using his friends’ help, he will take it wrongly.

Flowers can be wonderful reconcilers for women. Gifting your male partner flowers will be like ringing the death knell of your own relationship. So flowers are a complete no-no to get him back. He will try to make you jealous of course, but stay calm even if you see another woman with him. That might be to make you jealous.

A man loves comforting others, not being comforted. Try to show interest in the activities that he does. If he wants to watch a match with a beer and friends, allow him to.
